Docklet Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 4, 2026
Overview
Docklet does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information the app uses stays on your device.
What Docklet Does
Docklet is a macOS menu bar utility that monitors cursor movement to prevent the macOS Dock from hopping to displays you have not chosen. It does this entirely on-device using macOS system APIs.
Data We Collect
We collect nothing. Docklet does not:
- Collect or transmit personal information
- Track your cursor position beyond what is needed in the moment to block a Dock hop
- Log, record, or store mouse movement data
- Connect to the internet
- Use analytics, crash reporting services, or third-party SDKs
- Access any files, documents, or user data outside its own preferences
What Is Stored Locally
Docklet stores the following in your Mac's standard preferences system (UserDefaults), on your device only:
- Which display you have chosen to anchor the Dock to (a hardware identifier for that monitor)
- Whether anchoring is currently enabled or disabled
- Whether Docklet is set to launch at login
This data never leaves your device.
Accessibility Permission
Docklet requests macOS Accessibility access so it can observe system-wide cursor movement. This permission is granted by you through System Settings and managed entirely by macOS. Docklet uses this access only to detect when the cursor approaches the edge of a non-anchored display and intercept the event. No cursor data is recorded or transmitted.
Children's Privacy
Docklet does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If our privacy practices change, we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
